The University of Rhode Island, nestled in Kingston, Rhode Island, boasts a proud athletic tradition spanning over a century. The URI Rams compete in NCAA Division I athletics, with teams across 18 sports representing the university in the Atlantic 10 Conference and Colonial Athletic Association. Since the opening of the Thomas M. Ryan Center in 2002, URI has possessed a state-of-the-art athletics facility serving as home to basketball teams and hosting major events. The Ryan Center features an Alumni Room housing the URI Hall of Fame, where plaques honoring enshrined athletes line the facility walls, and custom adhesive murals surround recognition areas showcasing past athletes who have impacted URI programs.
